Situated in Norman Gardens, this home is exposed to a significant amount of sunlight during the day. With the owners looking to reduce their electricity costs of running the air-conditioning all day, the Spruce It Team applied a new coat of roof-cooling paint and new blinds in an effort to cool the home.
On initial inspection of the property, the Spruce It Team noticed that the home had no insulation under the roofing iron. In order to rectify this, the Spruce It Team recommended that the roof be repainted with Coolzone Roof Cooling paint. This not only improved the colour scheme of the property, but can also reduce the internal temperature of the home by 5-10 degrees.
In addition to the new roof paint, we also changed the colour of the exterior roller shutters from black to cream given the west facing aspect of the property. This dramatically cooled the kids rooms at the front of the house.
A fresh lick of paint was also applied to the feature wall in the living room to complement the owner's new lounge setting.
